GROWING GRASS, BUILDING TRUST
Supporting the vegetation management needs of our customers means more to us than just spraying weeds. We develop partnerships embedded in trust to ensure steadfast connections and long-term solutions.
Wiggins Ranch in Eureka, Kansas, has relied on Alligare products, like Gunslinger® AMP, to enhance its range and pasture spaces. The Wiggins family has been raising cattle in the Kansas Flint Hills for six generations. Today, they are known for raising top-quality Brangus-Angus cattle and producing delicious, home-grown beef.

Ranch Raised Premium Beef
At Wiggins Ranch, all cattle are born and raised on the wide-open native grasses of the Kansas Flint Hills. Even after selection for the retail program, cattle are turned out on grass until they are moved to the feedlot. Grass management is fundamental to a healthy herd and ultimately quality beef.
A Source You Can Trust
With a goal to always provide customers with the best quality beef from a source you can trust, the Wiggins family takes pride in producing tender, flavorful meat you can’t find in a store. Each step of the process is planned, practiced, and methodically completed to ensure the best product is available to the public.
Creating a Solid Foundation
Providing premium products begins early in the production cycle. To guarantee customer satisfaction and better beef each year, Wiggins Ranch worked with a vegetation management specialist to ensure quality from the ground up. “I have a different frame of mind about grass than a lot of people. I get a kick out of seeing clean, nice grass. Pasture is too hard to come by. If you don’t take care of it, you are wasting your time,” Mike Wiggins, owner of Wiggins Ranch.
Continuing the Legacy
Developing relationships and working with allies is not something new to Wiggins Ranch. Business built on a solid foundation and years of cultivating partnerships has left the ranch with a legacy six generations old and growing. One of these relationships is where their highly popular Wild Horse seasoning originated.
Don Elliot, former owner of the Wild Horse Grille in Marble Falls, Texas, was a lifelong friend of the Wiggins family. In his last days, Don shared the recipe for his perfected, custom spice blend, Wild Horse All Purpose Seasoning. This combined two legacies rich in tradition and a dedicated work ethic. Alligare is honored to share their stories, and a little bit of seasoning, with our customers at upcoming trade shows and conferences.

Every rancher's mineral program will vary, but there is one mineral no rancher can afford to overlook: magnesium. Each spring, cattlemen and women gear up for turnout, ready to let their herds graze fresh pastures. Cows with calves at their side eagerly chase the lush, green grass and savor the taste of spring. But while the fresh forage is a welcome sight, it also brings a silent threat for newly lactating cows: grass tetany. Caused by a magnesium deficiency, grass tetany is a serious and often fatal condition affecting grazing cattle. As we prepare to turn out cows with calves at their side, while tackling persistent spring weeds, we must keep in mind the dangers of grass tetany. Understanding the risk factors, you can take proactive steps in prevention and management which lead to a healthier, more resilient herd. ... Read more
